10 Alternative Flours for Delicious and Healthy Desserts

When it comes to desserts, many people think of cakes, cookies, and pies made with traditional wheat flour. However, there are plenty of alternative flours that can be used to create delicious and healthy desserts.

1. Almond Flour Brownies: Almond flour is a great alternative to wheat flour because it’s high in protein and healthy fats. To make almond flour brownies, mix together almond flour, cocoa powder, coconut sugar or sweetener of choice, eggs or flax eggs for vegan option, vanilla extract and chocolate chips then bake until done.

2. Coconut Flour Cookies: Coconut flour is another gluten-free alternative that works well in baking recipes. These coconut flour cookies are not only delicious but also keto-friendly! Mix together the coconut oil or butter with the dry ingredients (coconut flour, sweetener of choice) then add eggs or flax eggs for vegan option and vanilla extract before baking.

3. Buckwheat Pancakes: Buckwheat is a nutritious grain that’s often used in pancakes instead of wheat flour. To make buckwheat pancakes you’ll need buckwheat flour mixed with milk or non-dairy milk such as almond milk , eggs or flax egg for vegan option , baking powder and salt.
