"Rice No More: Cauliflower Takes Over as the New Low-Carb Favorite"

Cauliflower rice has become increasingly popular over the years, especially among those who are looking to cut down on their carb intake. Not only is it a great substitute for traditional rice dishes, but it also packs in plenty of nutrients and is incredibly versatile.

To make cauliflower rice, start by cutting off the florets from a head of cauliflower and discarding the stem. Then, using either a food processor or a cheese grater, shred the florets until they are about the size of rice grains.

Next, heat up some oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add in any aromatics you like such as garlic or onions and sauté them until they start to soften.

Add in your shredded cauliflower and stir well to combine with the aromatics. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the cauliflower starts to soften slightly.

If you want your cauliflower rice to be more tender, add in some water or broth and cover with a lid. Let it steam for another 5-7 minutes or until cooked through.

Once your cauliflower rice is cooked to your liking, season it with salt and pepper and any other herbs or spices that you like such as parsley, paprika or cumin.

Cauliflower rice can be used as a base for many different dishes such as stir-fries, sushi rolls, burrito bowls or even fried “rice”. It’s also great on its own as a side dish paired with grilled chicken or fish.

One thing to keep in mind when making cauliflower rice is that it does have quite a distinct taste compared to regular white rice. If you find the taste too strong at first try mixing it half-and-half with regular white rice before gradually reducing the amount of white rice over time.

Overall, making cauliflower rice is an easy way to add more veggies into your diet while still enjoying all of your favorite meals!
