Kate Hudson: Hollywood’s Favorite Health Guru?
Kate Hudson is known for her acting skills, bubbly personality, and striking beauty. But did you know that she’s also a health guru? Yes, Ms. Hudson has been preaching the benefits of healthy eating and exercise for years now. And while we applaud her efforts to promote wellness, sometimes her approach can be a little…well, let’s just say “out there.”
First things first: Kate is a big fan of alkaline diets. For those who are unfamiliar with this concept, it involves consuming foods that are supposed to balance your body’s pH level. According to Kate, eating an alkaline diet can help improve digestion and energy levels while reducing inflammation.
Now, there’s nothing inherently wrong with trying to eat healthier or attempting to reduce inflammation in the body through certain foods; however, many experts argue that the science behind alkaline diets doesn’t hold up. In fact, there isn’t much evidence supporting the idea that our bodies need to maintain specific pH levels in order to be healthy.
But Kate seems undeterred by these criticisms. She often shares photos on social media of meals she claims are “alkaline-friendly,” including lots of leafy greens and plant-based proteins like tofu and tempeh (which we’re totally on board with).
However…there are other aspects of her diet that leave us scratching our heads.
For example: Have you ever heard of bulletproof coffee? It’s a popular trend among fitness enthusiasts where you add butter or coconut oil into your cup o’ joe for some added nutrients (and calories). And guess what – Kate loves it! She even claimed in an interview once that she drinks it instead of breakfast because it keeps her full until lunchtime.
We get wanting to have more energy throughout the day but suggesting people skip breakfast altogether is not good advice at all! Skipping meals can lead to overeating later on which could cause weight gain, or worse binge eating. Plus, coffee alone can be a diuretic and add butter or coconut oil in it will only make us more dehydrated.
Speaking of “out there” health trends, Kate is also a big proponent of cupping therapy. If you’re not familiar with this practice, it involves placing cups on your skin (usually the back) to create suction. Proponents claim that it can help relieve muscle pain and improve circulation.
However, many experts are skeptical about these claims – and some have even pointed out that cupping can leave marks on the skin that look suspiciously like bruises (yikes!).
But again, Kate seems unfazed by these criticisms. In fact, she’s posted photos on Instagram showing off her own cupping sessions! As someone who has tried this practice myself I must say that while it does feel good for sore muscles in some areas of my body such as my lower back from sitting too long; however, if you have any sort of blood clotting issues or hemophilia it’s best to avoid as well as always consult with your primary care physician first!
All things considered though we believe Kate’s heart is in the right place when promoting healthy living habits. She often shares workout videos and tips on social media which encourages fans to get moving regardless of their fitness level- kudos to her for encouraging people to stay active!
And let’s face it: If anyone could convince us to try an alkaline diet just by looking stunning while doing yoga poses–it would be Kate Hudson herself!
