1. Choosing Fresh Brussels Sprouts:
When selecting Brussels sprouts for freezing, it’s important to choose fresh, firm ones with tightly closed leaves. Avoid any sprouts that have wilted leaves or signs of discoloration.

2. Cleaning and Preparing:
Start by cleaning the Brussels sprouts thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Trim off any loose outer leaves and cut off the stem ends.

3. Blanching:
Blanching is an essential step before freezing vegetables as it helps maintain their color, texture, and flavor during storage. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil and add the cleaned Brussels sprouts into it for about 3-4 minutes.

4. Ice Bath:
