It’s no surprise that different countries produce this juicy, sweet fruit in large quantities to meet the growing demand for it. China
China is the largest producer of watermelons globally, accounting for about 70% of worldwide production. The country produces various types of watermelons with varying sizes and shapes. Some of the popular Chinese varieties include Black Diamond, Crimson Sweet, Sugar Baby, and Moon & Stars.

Watermelons are typically grown in northern China during summer months when there is sufficient rainfall. The farmers plant seeds between April and May when the soil temperature reaches 15-20°Celsius (60-68°F). They use drip irrigation systems to provide adequate moisture to plants while avoiding waterlogging that can cause rotting.

India
India produces about 25% of global watermelon production annually. The country grows several types of watermelons such as Kiran (sugar baby), Pusa Madhuri (crimson sweet) among others.

The major cultivation areas in India include Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka Tamil Nadu Punjab Maharashtra Gujarat Haryana Uttar Pradesh etc., where there is a warm climate conducive for growth throughout the year due to its tropical climate

Farmers usually grow melon seedlings in nurseries before transplanting them into fields between June and July or earlier if temperatures permit optimal growth during monsoon season till October. Indian farmers use both traditional methods like flood irrigation which involves flooding fields with an excess amount of irrigated waters or modern drip irrigation techniques that allow precise application through tubes placed at root level providing plants with required quantity without any wastage

They use drip irrigation systems that supply plants with sufficient water and nutrients throughout the growing season. This method helps conserve water while ensuring optimal growth for the crops.

Egypt
Egypt is a leading producer of seedless watermelon globally; it accounts for about 5%of world output annually. Egypt grows various types of watermelons like Charleston Grey, Crimson Sweet, Sugar Baby among others.

The prime cultivation areas comprise Cairo Giza Governorates and El-Beheira Delta region where temperatures can be hot up to 45 °Celsius (113°F) during summertime which is ideal for optimal growth since melon thrives best under warm conditions

Iran
Iran produces around 3%of global output annually. Iran mainly cultivates two popular types of watermelons: Crimson Sweet and Sugar Baby.

Watermelon farming occurs mainly in central regions like Isfahan Yazd Fars Kerman provinces where enough rainfall mitigates against drought stress on these crops due to its arid climate

Iranian farmers plant seeds from mid-March till late April using highly fertile soil rich in organic matter fertilizers followed by frequent watering either through manual labor or drip irrigation system providing each plant with adequate moisture levels necessary for healthy growth.

The United States
The United States produce approximately 2% of worldwide output annually. The states that account for most US Watermelon production comprise Florida, Georgia, California, and Texas.

Farmers usually grow watermelon seedlings in greenhouses before transplanting them into fields between April to June when temperatures are warmer. They use drip irrigation systems that provide plants with enough water throughout the growing period while avoiding overwatering which can cause root rotting.
