The good news is that many types of cancer are preventable through healthy lifestyle choices, early detection, and screening.

In this post, we’ll discuss some strategies and steps you can take to reduce your risk of developing cancer and live a healthier life.

1) Maintain a Healthy Weight

Obesity has been linked to an increased risk of several types of cancers such as breast, colon, endometrial, kidney, pancreatic, liver cancers among others. Excess body fat can affect hormones levels and cause chronic inflammation which leads to DNA damage and promotes tumor growth.

To maintain a healthy weight:

– Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits vegetables whole grains lean proteins
– Limit consumption of sugary drinks processed foods high in salt or saturated fats.
– Engage in physical activity at least 30 minutes daily
– Get enough sleep (7 -8 hours per night)

– Drink filtered water
– Keep indoor spaces ventilated
